Our research colloquium “Ethics and Critical Theories of AI” covers advanced topics in the ethics of AI, critical social theories of the digital society, privacy and data protection, social philosophy, philosophy of technology and media studies of AI. We read recent publications as well as classical texts, debate presentations of ongoing projects and regularly host guest talks by interesting scholars in the field.

The colloquium meets every Wednesday, 16:15–18:30 Central European time during term time (see the UOS summer/winter term dates). The colloquium meets in a hybrid format. As a one-time exception, in the Summer Term 2026 the discussion language will be German (normally it is English).

Interested researchers and advanced students (MA, Ph.D.) from anywhere in the world are welcome to join. Please send us an email briefly introducing yourself: colloquium (ät) ethikderki.de.
