A New Operating System of the State – article in Verfassungsblog

In a new article in Verfassungsblog, Hannah Ruschemeier and I analyse how Palantir’s proprietary analytics platforms intervene in state decision-making architectures. The software does not merely change workflows in public administration; it also shapes what information becomes visible, how public authorities produce knowledge, and how state power is organised.

Our argument is not limited to one provider: when private platforms become the epistemic infrastructure of government, purpose limitation, transparency, the separation of powers, and democratic accountability can be gradually eroded. The article is in German.
