Job Opening: 1-2 Research Positions in Ethics and Critical Theories of AI
In my research group Ethics and Critical Theories of AI at the University of Osnabrück, one or two research positions are open, starting 1 October 2026:
1x 100% postdoc position or 2x 50% Ph.D. positions
Salary scale E 13 TV-L, fixed term of 36 months

I am looking for early-career scholars in critical philosophy, cultural and media studies, Science and Technology Studies, or related fields with a strong thematic interest in critically reflecting on the societal implications of AI technology.
The positions are closely integrated into the research and teaching activities of the group. Possible areas of focus include critical social philosophy, continental philosophy, philosophy of technology, STS, data protection and AI regulation, AI in education, public administration or medicine, and broader social and ethical questions of digital technologies.
It is especially important to me to create a collegial, inclusive, and supportive working environment in which independent research, intellectual exchange, and good supervision come together. FLINTA persons are explicitly encouraged to apply.
